Italian blockbusters screened at the Grauman’s ChineseTheatre. Among these, many films screened at What’s Next Italy, during MIA | Cinema 2016.
Los Angeles Italia – Film Fashion and Arts showcases some of the most appreciated Italian films of the year. The Festival hosted films such many other titles already screened within the MIA | Cinema 2016 What’s Next Italy section.
What’s Next Italy aims to give to international buyers the opportunity to discover new and upcoming italian films at early stages. These are some of the films presented at MIA and screened in Los Angeles: Che Vuoi Che Sia? (What’s the Big Deal?) by Edoardo Leo (Italian International Film, Warner Bros. Entertainment Italia), Non è un Paese per Giovani (No Country for Young Men) by Giovanni Veronesi (an Italian-Spanish co-production, Paco Cinematografica, Neo Art Producciones with Rai Cinema), Smetto Quando Voglio – Masterclass (I Can Quit Whenever I Want – Reloaded) by Sydney Sibilia (Groenlandia Film,Fandango, Rai Cinema) and Falchi (Street Hawks Patrol) by Toni D’Angelo (Minerva Picture, Bronx Film, Rai Cinema).
In addition to these titles, the Festival hosted Piuma (Feather) by Roahn Johnson (Palomar, Sky Italia) and Tommaso by Kim Rossi Stuart (Palomar), both showcased at MIA | Cinema 2016, in the market screenings for international buyers.
Another film presented at What’s Next Italy and screened in Los Angeles is Rosso Instanbul by Ferzan Ozpetek (R&C Produzioni, BKM, Faros Film and Imaj with Rai Cinema. The film is about a writer going through a rocky patch who goes back to Instanbul, his hometown, after 20years.
