Giancarlo Leone was unanimously elected by Apt members as the new president of the Association. The appointment has been confirmed after the official nomination of 28 March.
Leone is 61, and has been previously Rai Cinema General Manager, vice Director General of Rai and Director of Rai 1. As the new Apt president, Leone has illustrated his program in which he has addressed all the main issues of the sector: the approval of the implementing decree of the so called Franceschini law, the monitoring over the next service contract between the State and Rai, international market promotion, the amendments to the contract between broadcasters and producers, new and higher investments on documentaries, the revision of the terms between broadcasters and producers on entertainment programs and the revamping of MIA / International Audiovisual Market.
