Sony Pictures Television (SPT) has named Zelda Stewart, who left her post as Head of Acquisitions in Mediaset last January, as new Vice President of Distribution for SPT in Italy. The company will rely on Stewart’s experience – she has worked in Mediaset since 2005, and her mission was to increase sales in broadcast, digital and VoD sectors.
Andreas Brosjo, Senior VP for commercial broadcasting in SPT, to whom Stewart will be reporting, said:“ Zelda has an unrivalled knowledge of Italian media and a deep knowledge of buyers’ needs. Her position will be essential for our future growth in Italy, which represents an important market for our future ambitions”
Stewart has worked in Italy for twenty years, first in the marketing sector for Disney Channel, then in the production sector, and finally, in 2005, she passed to Mediaset, where she spent twelve years. Spt has entered the free-to-air market in our country this year, with the acquisition from Television Broadcasting System (TBS) of two networks which have broadcast in Italy since 2011, NekoTV and CapriGourmet.
