EndemolShine UK has created Shiny Button Productions, a new production company working in England and specialised in comedies. Its founders are Andy Brereton, James De Frond and Tom Davis, who conceived the English big comedy hit Murder in Successville.
Shiny Buttom will work in collaboration with Tiger Aspect Productions (who produced Murder in Successville) and the aim will be that of developing and producing both original and third-party comedy contents.
“Murder in Successville has proved that it is possible to bring something new on television” said Richard Johnston, CEO of EndemolShine UK, ” I’m looking forward to seeing their works on the screen”.
Murder in Successville is a sitcom settled in the fictional town of Successville, inhabited exclusively by celebrities (played by other actors) who carry out other activities: we can find Gordon Ramsay as police chief and Vladimir Putin as the owner of a gym. In each episode a real celebrity joins the crew to solve a crime. The series is at its third season, which began last month in England.
The first Shiny Button production will be a spy-comedy, Action Team, developed for ITV2. Written by De Frond and Davis and directed by De Frond, the sitcom will tell about a group of English secret agents and their mission to save the world.
