This Fall TV schedule presents a high-quality and very rich selection of TV series, with prevalence of remakes and TV adaptations of great literary successes. This is the case for The Handmaid’s Tale, for instance, which triumphed at the Emmys as Outstanding Drama Series (it will be released in Italy from September 26 on TimVision). It’s a series based on a novel of the same name by Margaret Atwood. Politics, racism, violence and religion are the topical themes of the series.
Anticipation is high also ahead of the comeback of Will&Grace, one of the most beloved comedies of the 2000s, broadcast on Joi (Mediaset Premium) from September 29.
Suburra, Netflix’s first Italian production, will be released in streaming from October 6 and will merge novel, comedy and crime drama.
Season two of The Shannara Chronicles, the fantasy series based on novels by Terry Brooks, will be aired on Sky Atlantic HD from October 16. The new episodes of the much-acclaimed series Stranger Things will come back on Netflix on October 27. The Gifted, the series based on Marvel’s X-Men will be aired on Fox Italia from October 18. The comic book world will hit Fox too from October 11 with Inhumans.
Season eight of The Walking Dead will return on October 23, while The Deuce, the new series by David Simon starring James Franco, will air on Sky Atlantic HD from the day after.
Sirene is Rai’s new series created by Ivan Cotroneo: a completely Italian fantasy drama about the most fascinating aquatic creatures ever, starring Luca Argentero, Valentina Bellè, Maria Pia Calzone and Ornella Muti, starting from November 21.
The completely Italian and much-anticipated Gomorrah will return on Sky Atlantic HD from November 17. And last but not least, the royal series par excellence on Netflix: season two of The Crown will be released on December 8.
