Following the great success of Babylon Berlin, Beta Film joins forces with Sky and Wiedermann & Berg (Netflix’s original Dark) to produce Pagan Peak, a German-Austrian remake of Bron, the Scandi-noir who already inspired US’s The Bridge and UK’s The Tunnel. As the original Danish-Swedish series, Pagan Peak will follow the investigations on the founding of a corpse on the German-Austrian Alps.
Babylon Berlin is the most succesful German show, a 2.5 million euros per episode production (40 million for the entire show) and along with Dark it represents a ‘renaissance’ of German TV Drama, started a year ago with the great reception abroad of Deutschland ’83 (UFA Fiction). Germany is a recent exporter and with this project confirms the will to become one of the major player in the European and International market.
