Dogman by Matteo Garrone and Happy as Lazzaro by Alice Rohrwacher will rapresent Italy at the European Film Awards (Efa 2018). The award ceremony at the European Film Festival will be held on December 15 in Seville. The two films have gained four nominations: Best European Film, Best European Director, Best European Screenwriter, Best European Actress and Best European Actor. Other nominated Italian films include The Happy Prince (Rupert Everett nominated for Best Actor) and Call me by your name by Luca Guadagnino in the People’s Choice Award.
