On Monday 20th January 2020, CINE34, the new Mediaset thematic network dedicated to great Italian cinema, will make its debut.
A Mediaset note reads: “The editorial line of the new network wants to represent the entire Italian production, from the best auteur titles to genre titles”. In the new channel, you can find detective films, historical kolossals, comedies, sexy melodramas, Sci-Fi, spaghetti western, thriller, and horror.
“CINE34 has an extensive and complete library of titles (with 2,672 titles, 446 unpublished)”. In the show schedule, there will also be some films, released in theatres, but never seen before on television. CINE34 directed by Marco Costa begins broadcasting on January 20, the day on which it marks the 100th anniversary of Federico Fellini‘s birth. Precisely for this reason the first day of programming will be completely dedicated to the famous director. In primetime two great classics, Amarcord and La Dolce Vita. Marco Costa, director of Mediaset’s thematic offer, commented: “The television scene lacked a channel dedicated only to Italian cinema and we took care of it”.
