The call for young people from Rome and Lazio to participate in the EFA YOUNG AUDIENCE AWARDS is now open. The testimonial for the city of Rome will be Carlo Sironi.
Alice nella Città also renews for the sixth consecutive year its partnership with the European Film Academy for the EFA Young Audience AWARD and opens the call to participate in the jury to 50 young people from Rome and Lazio aged between 12 and 14 years. The jury will be composed of young people from 32 European countries and the winners will be announced on April 25th during a ceremony broadcast live streaming from Germany.
The award will be presented to one of three films nominated this year: “Pinocchio” by Matteo Garrone (Italy/France), “The Crossing” (“Flukten Over Grensen”) by Johanne Helgeland (Norway) and the animated film “Wolfwalkers” by Tomm Moore & Ross Stewart (Ireland/Luxembourg). Due to the pandemic emergency, screenings and voting will be online on the EFA platform from 21st to April 24th.
Alice nella Città is one of the Italian partners of the European awards together with the Niels Stensen Cultural Foundation in Florence and the National Museum of Cinema in Turin, and is in charge of the jury in Rome and Lazio and their involvement in various educational activities on its website and social channels: These include a live meeting with director Carlo Sironi, winner of the Best European Revelation Award at the EFA 2020 for his film “Sole”, and a series of in-depth studies organised by Fabia Bettini and Gianluca Giannelli, such as the masterclass dedicated to “Pinocchio” held in February together with costume designer Massimo Cantini Parrini, candidate for the 2021 Oscars, and actors Rocco Papaleo and Maurizio Lombardi.
