Documentaries have three writing stages: the research, the production and the edit. Cosima and Valerio have worked together for 20 years, the director and editor team of PALIO and SANPA, Sins of the Savior. In this talk they will explore how to develop characters and construct a narrative in a documentary, be it a feature length or a series, from inception to delivery. The most malleable stage is the edit: that’s when the director and editor’s vision can make or break the story.
