The winners of the 2020 Nastri d’Argento of documentary have been announced.
The official selection has been composed of 25 titles related to the “Cinema del reale” section, another 25 works about the protagonists and stories of Cinema, Spettacolo e Cultura, 12 Docufictions and 12 Films and art events.
Among these, Selfie by Agostino Ferrente, produced by Magnéto Prod, Casa delle Visioni, Rai Cinema, ARTE in collaboration with Istituto Luce Cinecittà, as Nastro d’Argento 2020 for the “Cinema del reale” section, Life as a B-Movie: Piero Vivarelli by Fabrizio Laurenti and Niccolò Vivarelli, produced by Istituto Luce Cinecittà, Tea Time Film and Wildside, as best film on cinema: ex aequo, winners are La prima donna by Tony Saccucci, produced by Istituto Luce Cinecittà, and Searching for Valentina – The world of Guido Crepax by Giancarlo Soldi, produced by Bizef Produzione srl, Laser digital and Rai com, with a special prize to Figli del destino by Francesco Miccichè and Marco Spagnoli, produced by Red Film in collaboration with Rai Fiction. Hermitage-The Power of Art by Michele Mally, produced by 3D Produzioni, Nexo Digital in collaboration with Ermitage Italia, Sky Arte HD and Villaggio Globale International, wins in the Films and art events cluster; a special mention to Normal by Adele Tulli, produced by Film Affair, Ginestra Film, Intramovies, Istituto Luce Cinecittà, Rai Cinema and Archivio Audiovisivo del Movimento Operaio e Democratico.
Selfie by Agostino Ferrente and Life as a B-Movie by Fabrizio Laurenti and Niccolò Vivarelli have been presented at MIA Italians Doc it Better 2019; Searching for Valentina was instead at Doc Pitching Forum 2018.
