Global AVoD revenue forecasts indicate 144% market growth between 2020 and 2026.
According to the “Global AVoD Forecast” report from UK-based analyst firm Digital TV Research, AVoD growth is only down to 9.2% in 2020, but high growth is expected from this year.
Among the 138 countries included in the report, the U.S. will account for $21 billion of the additional revenue generated between 2020 and 2026. The U.S. became the largest AVoD country in 2019. Digital TV Research principal analyst Simon Murray said, “U.S. AVoD revenue will triple between 2020 and 2026 to $31 billion. Rather than losing market share to other countries, the U.S. will grow its share of the global total from 37% in 2020 to 47% by 2026.”
Revenue is expected to double for China, from $5.8 billion in 2020 to $10.6 billion in 2026, and for Japan, from $2.1 billion to $4.3 billion. Revenue in the United Kingdom will also be up, from $1.8 billion to $3.4 billion. While India‘s figures will triple from $715 million to $2.3 billion. Other countries combined will see more than double growth, from $6.6 billion to $14.3 billion, according to the report.
