The amendment of Article 44 of the Tusmar (the Consolidated Law on audio-visual and broadcasting media services) relating to cinema and the audio-visual sector and promoted by Minister of Cultural Heritage Dario Franceschini, which led to protests from broadcasters yesterday (read the details HERE), was the subject of several confidential conversations between the counterparties in order to reach a satisfactory compromise for everyone.
In this regard, apparently, there has been a technical meeting between the representatives of broadcasters, the officials of MiBACT (the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism) and MiSE (the Ministry of Economic Development) and the Presidency of the Council of Ministers yesterday to discuss the various aspects of the legislative measure: they demand that the shares include the entertainment part too.
For their part, TV producers fully support the work of MiBACT and the initiative of Minister Franceschini, which “puts at the centre of the debate the quality of Italian and European content and independent content, which we can’t forget that it provides premium product”, as stated by APT President Giancarlo Leone in Il Sole 24 Ore.
