The BAFTA Awards (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) have crowned the protagonists and the best British TV series.

Unexpectedly in the top category of the BAFTA Awards, Best Drama Series, BBC’s Peaky Blinders took a surprise win, passing ahead of the well-acclaimed Netflix series, The Crown. The best international series award went instead to the American The Handmaid’s Tale (produced by MGM Television and Gilead Productions), an undoubtedly expected winner, as it has already collected 8 Emmy Awards and 2 Golden Globes.
