The 2019 selective contributions call has been published on the website of the MiBAC (Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities). Fundings amount to € 32.5 million divided into three evaluation sessions.
Last year, among the projects that received the support of the 2018 selective contributions there was also Bangla. The movie was presented at What’s Next Italy|MIA 2018. In addition The film is now between the nominees for the “Nastri d’Argento” awards as best comedy.
In detail, € 960,000 are destinated to write original screenplays or taken from other non-audiovisual works protected under the copyright law, and from which it is possible to create cinematographic, television and web works. For the development and pre-production of cinematographic, television and web works € 2,560,000 are then allocated. The largest contribution (€ 24,500,000) is provided for the production of cinematographic works, animation, documentary and short films. Finally, another € 4,500,000 are reserved for the national distribution of cinematographic works.
The applications relating to writing, development and pre-production and production projects can be submitted from 1 to 26 July for the first session, from 9 to 30 September for the second session and from 26 August to 13 September for the third session. Applications for destribution can be submitted from 20 to 30 June for the first session, from 15 to 25 July for the second session and from 26 August to 13 September for the third session.
