Over thirty years after his death, Eduardo De Filippo will be dedicated a tv series, directed by Mario Martone and produced by Publispei. The project is based on the book by Maurizio Giammusso Vita di Eduardo, and will follow the life of the artist throughout twenty century Naples, from fascism to the post war years.
Martone, who has already directed another famous biography such as the one of Giacomo Leopardi (Il Giovane Favoloso), embarks on seriality and it does so with an international project developed with Ippolita Di Majo. The life of Eduardo will be retraced not only from an artistic point of view but also from a personal one, by telling also about his family of theatrical genius (his father, Eduardo Scarpetta and his children, Peppino and Titina), and his relationship with his contemporary Totò
Another project on the same Neapolitan actor has been undertaken, produced by Pepito Produzioni, written and directed by Sergio Rubini, focusing on Eduardo younger days, his family relations and his artistic first experiences, and ending with his first theatre hits. It was Agostino Saccà, founder of Pepito who revealed it:” we have already presented a story to Rai and at the last market in Cannes we screened a 4 minute trailer to attract international partners”.
