Yesterday, Tuesday, July 16th, 2019, the nominations for the 71st Emmy Awards, the American awards that recognize excellence in television, were announced. In the drama category, the final season of Game of Thrones picked up a leading 32 nominations. On the comedy front, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel garnered 20 nominations. HBO productions earned 137 nominations, Netflix series, instead, 117. This year’s Emmy ceremony will take place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on September 22nd, 2019.
