In two days Focus, a new free theme channel from Discovery, will arrive at Mediaset.
Born from the synergy between Mondadori and Mediaset, and inspired by the homonymous science and cultural popularization magazine, the channel (which will be available in the number 35 of our remotes) will deal with topics related to astronomy, nature, environment, animals, technology, history and current affairs. Marco Paolini, Mediaset director of programming and distribution, during the presentation of the channel, spoke to the press about “a gap that has been filled in our TV offer”.
With a simple and captivating language, the first evenings of Focus will be centered every day on a different theme: Sundays will be on nature, Mondays on space and science, Tuesdays on anthropology, Wednesdays will be dedicated to cycles of historical/scientific documentaries, Thursdays will be devoted to monographic films, Fridays on history (thanks to an agreement reached with Istituto Luce-Cinecittà) and finally Saturdays will be left for curiosities, as explained by Marco Costa, director of the Mediaset thematic networks, while also announced a first co-production on the history of Herod. Among the programs scheduled stands out The Story of God, the long journey of the American actor Morgan Freeman through the symbolic places of diverse religions in search of God and faith, to be broadcast on Tuesday 22 May.
