98 are the projects for new films that have been sent to the “Social Film Fund – Con il Sud“. The Apulia Film Commission and Fondazione Con il Sud are celebrating the success of the initiative.
The announcement, released last April 3rd, was born from the collaboration between Fondazione Con il Sud and Apulia Film Commission and receives the sponsorship of the Italian Puglia Region. It was created as an initiative to portray the social reality of the Southern regions of Italy. Out of 98 projects, only 10 will be selected among other documentaries and short films by the two founding societies and will receive an economic contribution of about 40 thousand euros per film. The almost 100 proposals received certainly mark a victory for the institutions that have contributed to the implementation of this announcement, as the founders declared with pride.
“The announcement is an opportunity for growth in the south”, said the president of the Fondazione Con il Sud Carlo Borgomeo. The number of projects submitted “confirms that the service sector is complementary to culture and creativity and that there is a great need to release energies, to tell dreams and realities from an alternative point of view”.
