Italian cinema is appreciated abroad as confirmed by the ever-increasing presence of Italians at international festivals. Here are all the titles that will be in Toronto and London.
From September 10 to 18, 2021, the Toronto Film Festival will take place. In addition to Wolf by Nathalie Bianchieri (presented as a project at MIA 2018), other Italians hits of 2021 will also arrive in the Canadian metropolis:
- Small body, directed by Laura Samani, produced by Nefertiti Film, Tomsa Films, Vertigo and Rai Cinema with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée (CNC), Slovenian Film Center, Fondo Audiovisivo del Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Torino Film Lab;
- Futura, directed by Pietro Marcello, Francesco Munzi and Alice Rohrwacher, produced by Avventurosa and Rai Cinema with the support of the Ministry of Culture;
- Three Floors, directed by Nanni Moretti and produced by Sacher Film and Fandango in collaboration with Rai Cinema and Le Pacte and with the support of Regione Lazio and Creative Europe Media;
From October 6 to 17, 2021 some of them will also land at the BFI London Film Festival:
- Marx Can Wait, directed by Marco Bellocchio and produced by Kavac Film, IBC Movie, Tenderstories and Rai Cinema in collaboration with Fondazione Cineteca di Bologna and with the support of Regione Lazio;
- Il buco, directed by Michelangelo Frammartino and produced by Doppio Nodo Double Bind, Rai Cinema in co-production with Société Parisienne de Production and Essential Filmproduktion GmbH with the support of the Ministry of Culture, ZDF/Arte, Fonds Eurimages du Conseil de l’Europe, Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée (CNC), Cinereach;
- The Hand of God, directed by Paolo Sorrentino and produced by The Apartment in collaboration with Netflix and with the support of Regione Campania and Film Commission Regione Campania.
