Mediaset sides with F2i and launches a tender offer on the Ei Towers, the operator of telephone and television towers, 40% of which is already owned by Biscione.
A bidco is to be set up between Mediaset and F2i, the strategic fund of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, to launch a tender offer on Ei Towers.
The operator of telephone and television towers, already 40% owned by Mediaset, currently capitalises on €1.4 billion. The purchase of the remaining 60% would cost at least €840 million. Therefore Mediaset should retain the same stake it currently holds in the bidco set up by the two companies, which was called 2i Towers. As a result, F2i should have control of the bidco, holding 60% of the capital.
The Ei Towers group, which owns approximately 3,300 towers, of which 2,300 are for broadcasting and more than one thousand for mobile phones, closed the session at 49.35 euro, an increase of 1.65%.
