The Lion King has conquered the first place, leaving Fast & Furious Presents – Hobbs & Shaw second while Il Signor Diavolo achieved the third place. Discover the complete rankings of the last weekend of August 22-25, 2019.
With the release of The Lion King, a new ruler arrived as the movie achieved the first place with €10.961.043 (€14.062.059 in total), making Fast & Furious Presents – Hobbs& Shaw fall to the second place with €623.411 (€5.266.666 total). The new Il Signor Diavolo is in third place with a revenue of €422.054 on its first weekend.
Running fourth, Crawl has earned €190.995 (€642.820 total) on its second weekend, while the new title Booksmart finds itself in the fifth position having cashed in €168.972 (€192.203 in total), followed by Spider-man: Far From Home that after seven weeks of its debut has earned €103.345 (€11.644.373 total).
Men in Black: International holds the seventh place five weeks after being screened for the first time, earning €100.018 this last weekend (€2.730.845 in total) followed by the Italian production The Nest, which earned 69.794 (€296.884 total) after two weeks in theaters. Toy Story 4 is number nine in the rankings having made €43.600 last weekend and a total of €6.143.670 in nine weeks. And in the last position, we find the new title L’Ospite, with revenue of €26.674 this weekend and €29.299 in total.
The Lion King found the same success in Italy as it did in the other countries where it was released, confirming once again Disney’s capacity to deliver to the audiences. The other remarkable fact is that Il Signor Diavolo (a 100% original Italian production) found a place in the Top 3, among international super-productions.
