Maria Pia Ammirati is going to be appointed for the direction of Rai Fiction.
Ammirati, former director of Rai Teche since 2014 and head of RaiPlay Content, is also president of the Istituto Luce-Cinecittà, designated by the Minister for Cultural Heritage and Activities and for Tourism Dario Franceschini.
Television executive, author of award-winning novels and journalist, she collaborates with various magazines in the literary field. She was deputy director of Rai Uno, president of Rai Equal Opportunities Committee, responsible for various television programs (Uno morning, Linea Verde, Final Verdict, La vita in ricerca and Domenica In).
After a few months of waiting, during which CEO Fabrizio Salini was interim director, Ammirati will occupy the position previously held by Eleonora Andreatta. The official appointment is expected for today, Wednesday November 11, on the occasion of the board of directors scheduled in Viale Mazzini. Another appointments in the program: Pierluigi Colantoni, current deputy director of the Creative Direction, will lead the New Format management; furthermore, deputy directors of Rai1, Rai2 and Rai3 will be chosen by the network managers; the deputy directors already existing in the networks will then be confirmed.
