Sky and Amazon announce a new multi-year partnership that will allow subscribers of both services to watch the related contents in a single “place” from this week.
Amazon Prime Video app will in fact be available on SkyQ and NOW TV, while the NOW TV app will be available on Fire TV devices in Italy.
Thanks to the partnership, Sky and Amazon subscribers – in Italy, United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany and Austria – will therefore be able to more easily embrace the new entertainment opportunities offered by the two services.
Stephen van Rooyen, Sky’s EVP and CEO UK & Europe comments: ““Sky Q customers are receiving an early Christmas present on their boxes this year in the form of Amazon Prime Video”. Maximo Ibarra, CEO of Sky Italia, adds: “Thanks to this partnership, Sky Q is increasingly the reference point for those who want to have the wide choice of Sky content, the main streaming apps and a simple and engaging viewing experience in one place”.
““We’re pleased to be bringing our Prime Video app to Sky Q and Now TV devices in time for the holidays. With winter settling in, and our new binge-watch obsession The Wilds about to launch, it’s a perfect time for Sky customers to catch up on our award-winning Prime Video TV shows, movies, and live sport, including Prime Video’s exclusive live broadcasts of 20 English Premier League games this December. Plus, with Now TV launching on Fire TV – customers in the UK have never had it better when it comes to choosing what to watch however they are watching”, said instead Jay Marine, Vice President, Prime Video Worldwide.
