#SoloAlCinema: The White Nights of Cinema. This is the new cultural event promoted by Alice nella Città and dedicated to cinema, to make up for the time lost during this pandemic year.
The event will involve all Italian cinemas that want to join and will be a non-stop programming of 48 hours, on July 2nd and 3rd: previews, meetings, tributes and special events, with a single discounted ticket that will involve all the professionals sectors.
The White Nights of Cinema will be a real celebration of cinema, an emotion that has been missing this year. The purpose of this initiative is to (re)discover the cinema in all its beauty.
Even the theaters of Rome, with the collaboration of Regione Lazio, will participate in the event.
Among the participants, many of the artists, (including the president of U.N.I.T.A. Vittoria Puccini) Pierfrancesco Favino, Paolo Calabresi, Vinicio Marchioni, Elena Sofia Ricci, Valentina Lodovini, Giuseppe Fiorello, Sabina Guzzanti, Edoardo Leo, Anna Valle, Michela Cescon, Carlotta Natoli, Paola Minaccioni, Fabrizio Gifuni. In addition, exhibitors, associations, film schools, film libraries and festivals will help to spread and amplify the great event.
One of the most waited evenings is the “Notte d’Argento”, dedicated to the master of horror cinema Dario Argento, with the collaboration of the David di Donatello.
The pandemic has inflicted a deadly blow to cultureand the restart must pass through the cinema. The occasion will be designed for everyone, young people, families and those fans who cannot stay away from the big screen. This important initiative is designed to reconnect with the audience.
The White Nights will represent a sort of green light for the theatrical industry, according to Luigi Lonigro, national president of ANICA distributors. Also for Mario Lorini, president of ANEC, the White Nights of Cinema can truly represent the central moment and the qualitative leap in the restart process. According to Gianluca Giannelli and Fabia Bettini, artistic directors of Alice nella Città, the event will be an extraordinary moment of sociality, to rebuild a collective identity.
Our only hope is that this event will really be the launch pad for the re-launch of the cinema sector and that many can rediscover the emotion of watching a film at the cinema, all together.
