The documentary TV series Rebel Styles, directed by Lara Rongoni and produced by Claudio Giapponesi and Elisa Trento, will be broadcast on Sky Arte from 6 May 2020.
The series, consisting of six twenty-six-minute episodes, is dedicated to the connections among twentieth century music, visual identities and counterculture, narrated by international music and fashion “big names”. The “Rebel Styles” are those of music critics, fashion experts, musicians and celebrities: among them, Kenney Jones (drummer of Small Faces, Faces, The Who), Glen Matlock (bassist of the Sex Pistols), Heather Tilbury Phillips (consultant of the Mary Quant exhibition at the V&A Museum, director of the Mary Quant brand in the 70s), Jordan Mooney (punk icon and Vivienne Westwood’s and Malcolm McLaren’s collaborator), the musician Suzi Quatro.
Rebel Styles has been produced by Kiné and Sky Arte, with the support of the Regione Emilia-Romagna Film Commission, in collaboration with CNA Federmoda, Wladi Rigato, Landi.
The TV series was presented at the MIA 2018 Doc Pitching Forum.
