In cooperation with the British Film Institute (BFI), the British Council and the British Embassy in Rome, we’re pleased to announce a special focus on the UK, featuring panels, debates and meetings aimed at highlighting the UK Film & TV industry, talents and marketplace, and all business and partnership opportunities between UK and Europe.
A consistent delegation of British film and TV producers will attend MIA and meet up with their Italian and European counterparts in view of developing and coproducing new exciting projects. At the same time, the most recent UK productions will be screened at cinemas during the MIA days, while a few exclusive 2019 titles will be presented to buyers.
The special ‘Spotlight on the UK’ panel will introduce participants to what the UK marketplace offers to producers in terms of soft money, tax relief, incentives, and how to get the most out of it all, while British fund representatives and UK independent producers will share their successful co-production experiences. Keynotes and ‘Guru’ debates will shine a light on some of the most exciting talents and businesses in the current production and distribution UK scenario. Real pioneers in championing diversity and inclusion in offices, stories and on screen, British institutions’ representatives and producers will be invited to share their forward-thinking and pioneering approach on the matter, which hopefully will soon spread and grow to become ‘standard’, outside the UK borders, as well.
